So should you eat a body type breakfast? Well, let me ask you this.

Have you ever eaten breakfast and felt sluggish or foggy afterwards?

If the answer is yes, then you know it’s a dippy downer when what you really wanted was more energy and less cravings!

When I eat breakfast according to my body type, everything is SO much better.

I have amazing focus, lasting energy and incredible enthusiasm! But best of all it gives me energy for at least 4-5 hours and I have no cravings.

Because this makes such an incredible difference to my life, I decided to write a post about the “right breakfast “ you  want to eat for your body type.

How is your breakfast treating you?

We are all uniquely different

The lesson I learned from my own experience and with my clients is that one-plan-fits-all never works when it comes to eating healthy and feeling good.

Each person has a different metabolism, cravings, energy level, and we all gain weight in different places.

We all come in different packages (body types) and there are nine different body types and combinations of these.

Now lets explore how you can make your breakfast work for your body type

The best change I’ve made to my health has been to eat in a way that suits my body type.

My body type is a combination of mesomorph and endomorph body types, so I like to eat a breakfast that’s in between the two.

Here is an example of how each body type might adjust a simple breakfast of eggs to suit their unique metabolism and biochemistry.

Best eating plan for Mesomorph body types

As a mesomorph body type, you typically do best on an eating plan that contains:

  • Moderate levels of carbohydrate
  • Moderate amounts of protein
  • Moderate amounts of fat.

This could be some berries, yoghurt, a 2-egg omelette and some avocado.

Best eating plan for Endomorph body types

Endomorph body types typically do best on an eating plan that contains:

  • Lower carbohydrate
  • Higher fibre
  • Higher protein
  • Higher fat.

This could be some eggs, smoked salmon and avocado with greens on the side.

Best eating plan for Ectomorph body types

As an ectomorph body type, you typically do best on an eating plan that contains:

  • Moderate levels of carbohydrate
  • Moderate amounts of protein
  • Lower amounts of fat.

This could be some berries, yoghurt, a 2-egg omelette and a piece of gluten-free toast (or some greens).

Paleo Porridge Recipe:

Here is a recipe for a grain free, “right for my body type” porridge that I’ve been really enjoying these winter mornings.

It’s a great combination of healthy fats, protein and fibre that will keep your blood sugar levels very stable all morning and is a good choice for a mesomorph/endomorph type.

  • 200ml almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon flax meal
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup raw walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 small apple chopped into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon of Natvia


  1. Pour the almond milk into a small to medium-sized saucepan and set over medium heat.
  2. Let the milk come to a gentle boil.
  3. Add in the chia, flax meal, coconut, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, chopped apple and Natvia and give the porridge a stir to combine
  4. Keep mixing until it becomes a creamy porridge like texture
  5. Add some cinnamon or crushed nuts or any other topping you fancy

Tip: To save time in the morning, I will prep all the dry ingredients the night before and put them together in a little jar in the fridge.

You can cut up the apple and store it in an airtight container in the fridge.
